Menu Tooltip is a WordPress plugin that allows administrators to add text icons and Dashicons as tooltips to menu items. Icons can be aligned above or below the submenu text, and they can be customized for color, blinking, and alignment.<\/p>\n\n

    Steps<\/p>\n\n

    1. Download the Plugin: Obtain the menu-tooltip.zip<\/code> file containing the plugin files.<\/li>\n
    2. Upload the Plugin\n-Go to the WordPress admin dashboard.\n\u2013 Navigate to Plugins > Add New\n\u2013 Click Upload Plugin and choose the menu-tooltip.zip<\/code> file.\n\u2013 Click Install Now<\/li>\n

    3. Activate the Plugin\nAfter installation, click Activate to enable the plugin.\nHow to Use<\/p><\/li>\n

    4. Navigate to Settings > Menu Tooltip<\/strong> in the WordPress admin dashboard.<\/p><\/li>\n

    5. The settings page allows you to configure tooltips for your menus and submenus.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n

      Configuring Menu Tooltips<\/p>\n\n

      1. Select Menu:\n\u2013 Choose a WordPress menu from the dropdown list.\n\u2013 Once a menu is selected, a second dropdown will appear to choose a submenu.<\/p><\/li>\n

      2. Select Sub-menu**:\n\u2013 Choose the submenu item where you want to add an icon.<\/p><\/li>\n

      3. Select Text Icon:\n\u2013 Pick an icon (\"New\", \"Fresh\", \"Hurry!\" or any of the 10 most popular Dashicons) to display next to the submenu item. These are :\n(i) User\/Profile;\n(ii) Settings\/Gear;\n(iii) Search\/Magnifying Glass;\n(iv) Menu\/Hamburger (three horizontal lines);\n(v) Shopping Cart;\n(vii) Envelope\/Mail;\n(viii) Bell\/Notifications;\n(ix) Calendar;\n(x) Bookmark\/Flag;<\/p><\/li>\n

      4. Icon Color**:\n\u2013 Use the color picker to select a custom color for the icon.<\/p><\/li>\n

      5. Enable Blinking**:\n\u2013 Check the box to enable a blinking effect for the icon.<\/p><\/li>\n

      6. Icon Alignment**:\n\u2013 Choose between \"Top\" or \"Bottom\" to align the icon slightly above or below the submenu text.<\/p><\/li>\n

      7. Add More**:\n\u2013 Click Add More<\/strong> to configure additional submenu items.<\/p><\/li>\n

      8. Save Changes**:\n\u2013 Click Save Changes<\/strong> to apply the configurations.<\/p><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n

        Can I use the real icon and not just an icon ?\nNo, in the current version, only three text icons -New, Hurry, and Fresh\u2014can be chosen to show over the menu. Apart from that I have also put 10 most popular Dashicons.<\/p>\n\n\n
